Greetings!

I am Karen.

I have been working as a counsellor and coach for over 10 years and have worked with multitudes of people who have come to see me for both specific and non specific issues.

In a previous life I was a Police Officer for 17 years in the Metropolitan Police. I worked predominantly with domestic and sexual offences in central London throughout this time. Together with my own lived experience of both domestic and sexual violence , this subject area of my life has become a focus of my lifes work. In 2016 I founded Survivors Alliance North Devon CIC , a trauma counselling service for adults who have been sexually abused or raped. I am enormously proud to have built up a small but mighty brilliant project and have recently stepped back from managing the project so I can concentrate on my own therapy and supervision practise again.

My other personal interests and another area of specialism is around supporting carers who look after (adult) children who have severe mental health challenges and challenging behaviour.

When I am not working you will mostly find me wild swimming around the North Devon coast, Exmoor lakes and waterfalls . Laughing, cooking and reading. Partial to red wine. Travelling.

I am Wife, Mum, Grandmother, Crone, Wise Woman, Friend.
